Lowell Joint School District

The Lowell Joint School District is one of the leading districts throughout the state of California. Our students receive a quality education from outstanding teachers whose top priority is the success of their students.

The District is located in the southeastern portion of Los Angeles County and the northwestern portion of Orange County. It serves families from the communities of La Habra, La Habra Heights, and Whittier. The District serves the educational needs of students in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade at five K-6 elementary schools and one intermediate school. All six schools have received the California Distinguished School Award and acknowledge the importance of education, the family, and traditional American values. There is an emphasis on higher education, personal integrity, social responsibility, Character Education, and an appreciation of our national heritage.

Ensuring students can compete in a globally competitive environment is one of the hallmarks of Lowell Joint. For this reason, rigorous academics coupled with specialty programs ensure students have a well-rounded education. Special programs provided at the schools include art and vocal music (TK-6) and instrumental music (5-8). At the junior high school, a full array of visual and performing arts classes is offered including beginning and advanced band, percussion, drumline, vocal music and drama. Classes are available in drawing, painting, 3-D design and advanced art. An extensive STEM program is also offered with classes in Design and Modeling, Robotics, Audio Engineering, Green Architecture and Energy and the Environment. Three seasons of afterschool sports and after-school enrichment opportunities, such as Science Olympiad, are offered at the junior high school.  We also offer several classes and opportunities through our new PowerSource progra. including spanish, theatre and a wealth of other classes and activities for all interests.

There is an emphasis on 21st century learning skills and a vast array of technology is infused at all of the schools to ensure our students have the foundation to be globally competitive.
